- To start with, you'll need dispensation from the French Government.
- Your US Domestic modem (not limited to Zyxel) is not type-approved for
- use outside the USA & Canada.

- To be fully functional there your modem will need the French version of
- firmware microcode. (but even with it, it still won't be "certified")

- As a "regulated item" it is possible that your US-certified modem could
- be seized at the airport in France as contraband. (unlikely but still
- possible).

- I recommend you contact the French Consulate (in most major US Cities)
- a month or so before departure. Better safe than sorry.
